On the final Sunday of September, locals and visitors from around the area come to Rough and Ready to enjoy our annual Chili Cook-off. Formerly a sanctioned event, the town decided, in 2004, to “ secede” from the International Chili Society and do it Rough and Ready Style, with Rough and Ready Rules! Now, any individual or group can sign up to cook their version of the world’s best chili.
